Living Pumpkin & Succulent Centerpiece Workshop

Join us on Saturday, September 20th at 10:00 AM for a hands-on workshop where you’ll create your own living pumpkin and succulent centerpiece. This beautiful, long-lasting decoration is the perfect way to celebrate fall and add a touch of seasonal charm to your home.

During the workshop, you’ll use a real pumpkin as your base and learn how to arrange moss and a variety of succulents to design a unique centerpiece. Our team will guide you step by step, and you’ll also take home tips on how to keep your succulents thriving.

Come and enjoy the farm and our fall opening with some Yoga on the Farm! We'll welcome the beautiful transitions of fall, and slow down with a creative yoga flow.

No experience needed, just come take the time for you! This class is designed for those 12 years old and up. We'll practice some mindfulness, stretching, gentle strengthening, all in a flow!This will be taught by the wonderful yoga instructor Aubrey Anderson

Come join us for our Mixed Annual Container Gardening Workshop! We will be discussing how to add appeal to your porch or patio area using a mix of annual plants. You will learn about matching plants, planting in containers, sunlight, water requirements, and adding the perfect mix of height and color to each pot. This class will last approximately 60 minutes and you will get to take your container home with you! This class is geared towards adults. Just bring your enthusiasm and a willingness to learn!

All materials needed for the workshop, including a 12-inch plastic pot, soil, plants, and workshop handouts will be provided. When signing up, please choose your pot color. You will have a choice between basil, merlot, and terra cotta.

We will be planting 2 herb plants and a marigold plant to help with insect control. All plant material, a 24-inch plastic pot, soil, and instruction are included in the price of this class. The ticket price is $45 per person.

This workshop is geared towards kids aged 3 and up. Parental assistance is required. Your child will get to create their own beautiful pot along with getting a chance to get their hands dirty planting a houseplant or succulents, their choice! They will have several houseplants and succulent varieties to choose from. This is a hands-on workshop so come prepared to get dirty! Tickets are $30 per child. Pot, paint and supplies, soil, plants, and instruction are included in price.

Back again! Join us for a fun and exciting terrarium building workshop!

Are you ready to build your own mini rainforest or mini plant environment, perfect for brightening up your home or workspace?

At this workshop, you'll do exactly that (and learn a few fun plant facts along the way). Our knowledgeable plant staff will show participants techniques for the design and maintenance of your very own glass jar terrarium, complete with plants and miniature decorations.

A 1-gallon glass jar with lid, gravel, soil, charcoal, moss, spray bottle, and plants are included. All ages are welcome! Children must be accompanied by an adult.

The Terrarium Workshop will be held on Saturday, February 15 at 1 pm. Rain or shine!

Celebrate the season at our Snacks and Crafts with Santa on the Farm event! Join us Sunday, December 15th, from 1-4 pm, with openings every 30 minutes. Reserve a spot for a tasty holiday snack and a warm cup of hot cocoa with Santa himself. Kids will also enjoy holiday crafts to take home as keepsakes! You will have time to take pictures with the big guy too! Perfect for creating holiday memories in a festive farm setting. Tickets are required, so book early to secure your preferred time.

There will not be a professional photographer here, you will be responsible for taking your own pictures.

In collaboration with People First Tourism and Breathe with Joss:

Join us for an afternoon of deep breathing and meditation designed to help you connect with your inner self and boost your energy levels. This in-person event is a perfect opportunity to relax, recharge, and rejuvenate.

Led by Breathe with Joss, the 1-hour SOMA Breath Energized Breathwork Routine combines brain entrainment music, intermittent hypoxic training, breathwork, and guided visualization. This practice helps participants optimize oxygen use and build tolerance to carbon dioxide.

Energized Breathwork sessions also encourage slower, nasal breathing, release tension, and elevate mood, offering a highly effective breathwork meditation experience.

This event will be held on our farm. After the class, you can cool off with a delicious treat or explore the nursery and perhaps take home some plants.

Join us for a night of thrills and chills at Smith's Farm Market's Haunted Trail on Saturday, October 26th, from 6-9 pm! This spine-tingling experience is designed for those 12 years and older, with all attractions crafted to deliver the ultimate scare. Start your adventure with a nighttime hayride through our eerie farm, which will drop you off at the entrance to our haunted trail deep in the woods. Navigate on foot through the darkness, but beware—only the brave make it to the other side! Once through the trail, the hayride will be waiting to take you back up to the entrance of the farm. This event is designed to be scary and children 8 & under are not allowed. Children aged 9-13 must be accompanied by an adult ticket holder. Grab your tickets now, and prepare for a frightful evening!

While you wait, we will be playing a scary Halloween classic movie, and roasting s’mores by the fire! The movie title is coming soon!

This event will run from 6-9 pm, with the movie starting as soon as it gets dark and running on a continuous loop until 9. Your receipt will be emailed to you after your purchase and must be presented upon arrival at the store. You can show a copy from your phone or a printed copy. We will give you a ticket and show you where to begin. One passage on the hayride and through the trail is allowed per ticket. You are welcome to stay and roast s’mores and watch the movie until the event ends at 9 pm.

MOONLIT HAYRIDE & S'MORES

Come join us on Friday, October 25th for a fun family night during a glorious full moon for a moonlit hayride, bonfires, and s’mores! Throughout the night we will play the movie It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and our ice cream shack will be serving up delicious warm coffee, cider, and hot chocolate. Let’s celebrate the end of pumpkin season here at Smith’s with wonderful friendship, community, and good times! The family-friendly hayride will take you on a trip throughout the farm and through the woods. The bonfires will be burning behind the store with a staff member passing out s’mores to the folks with tickets, and the movie will be on a continuous loop from sunset to 9 p.m.

During this event we have a special guest James M. Parker, author of Ghostly North Carolina: Hauntings from Mountains to Coast visiting for a book signing! He will be with us and will be selling his books from 6-9 pm. Don’t miss your chance to meet him, grab your own spooky read, and enjoy a fun and cozy night of fun!

Tickets are required to ride the hayride & s’mores! Please check in at the store upon arrival to purchase tickets (or check in if you bought tickets ahead of time. Learn to make a beautiful boho plant hanger in this beginner macrame class! No prior experience is needed. In this workshop, instructor Jenn Smith will lead as you learn:

• How to begin a macrame piece, including an overview of necessary materials.

• How to work several different macrame knots.

• How to incorporate wooden beads into your design.

• Leave with a finished plant hanger.

The class fee includes instruction and all the necessary supplies and materials, including the cotton cord, wooden beads, a 6-inch clay pot, soil, and a pothos plant. No prior experience is required - beginners welcome! Feel free to shop for additional pots or plants after the class.
