Job Position:         Ice Cream Scooper/Cashier

Location:               Smith’s Farm Market

 

 

Position Summary:

Representing Smith’s Farm Market, you will be in charge of the Ice Cream Shack, responsible for all duties required to maintain the ice cream distribution, complete accurate money transactions and responsible for the accuracy of the cash register.  You will interact in a friendly and professional manner with patrons and employees.

 

Position Duties/Essential Job Functions:

1.       Greet all customers and provide them all with prompt and highly friendly, courteous service or assistance.

2.      Maintains the ice cream counter and customer area and follows opening and closing procedures.

3.      Scoops ice cream with accuracy and consistency – follow guidelines.

4.      Makes floats, shakes and coffee drinks

5.      Practice food safety principles.

6.      Monitors the ice cream selection and stock toppings.

7.      Daily cleaning of ice cream counter area, cooler, glass etc.

8.      Cleans and de-ice ice cream cooler once a week.

9.      Restocks and stores ice cream deliveries.

10.  Takes inventory of ice cream, cones, toppings, napkins, cups, spoons, etc. once a week.

11.  Responsible for the accuracy of the cash register.

12.  Handles cash and credit card transactions.

13.  Responsible for the appearance of the customer area; tables cleaned and wiped down, chairs straightened, floor swept, etc.

14.  Responsible for the maintenance of two restrooms at the store.

15.  Must be able to work most weekends during busy seasons (Spring & Fall)

16.  Sweep floor behind & under counters and in main eating area daily. Mop floors weekly.

17.  Be willing to help out with garden center duties as time allows or during down times.

 

Qualifications:

·         Proficient reading, math, and cash handling skills required

·         Previous experience in customer sales and service.- A plus, but not required.

·         Demonstrated proficiency in the use and understanding of a computerized register system.

Essential Physical/Mental Requirements:

·         This job operates in an environment serving the public in multiple areas including food, drinks, and other services.

·         Must be able to lift up to 25-30 pounds, must be able to walk, reach, and lift on a regular basis.

·         Must be able to stand for long periods at a time without rest.

·         Must be able to work in outdoor environments and handle exposure to variations in weather and conditions.
